TRIFOLD SHUTTER CARD ~ HAPPY 40TH

It is my Aunt & Uncle's 40th Wedding Anniversary and I wanted to make them a special card. I have been wanting to try one of the Trifold Shutter Cards for sometime, so I thought it would make a special keepsake for them.

HERE is the tutorial on how to make this card.

This card is also for today's Free For All Challenge on Splitcoaststampers to use lots of layers on our card.

Although these cards are quite beautiful in real life....they are very difficult to photograph. The first photo is of the card closed.....as it would be when you take it out of the envelope.

This second photo is the card completely open and laying flat. I took this photo so you could see all the different layers and how nicely it shows off DSP.

This third photo is actually how you would stand the card up. Sorry about the shadows, but it is evening when I took the photo and it was hard to get a good shot....but I promise it is very very pretty!! lol

I was able to use up some of my Thoroughly Modern DSP....I love that paper.

If you would like to learn how to make this card by coming to one of my Stamp Classes or by booking a workshop please contact me: MY STAMPIN UP WEBSITE.

SAIL AWAY EASEL CARD

I finally had a chance to ink up the SAIL AWAY stamp which will be available May 1st in the Summer Mini Catalog. I LOVE this stamp. It is a single stamp for only $11.95. To me it has so many possibilities. Great for a masculine card, sympathy, thinking of you.....whatever!

I made an Easel Card today which qualifies for the OUR CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE this week, and I also used today's SKETCH CHALLENGE from Splitcoaststampers.

Here is a close up of the Build A Brads I used. I punched out the little anchors from the Nautical Expedition DSP with my 1/2" Circle Punch and was able to create my own embellishment to match my card. Cool eh? I also used the new Bakers Twine available in the Summer Mini to add some stitching and embellishment to my card.

Here is a side view of the Easel Card.

Here is the closed view of the Easel card.....it fits perfectly into a regular envelope....then opens up and displays your card front so nicely. I just followed the TUTORIAL off of Splitcoaststampers.

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Sail Away, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Early Expresso, Confetti White, Nautical Expedition DSP
Ink: Early Expresso
Accessories: 1/2" Circle, 1" Circle, Word Window, Modern Label & Spiral Border Punches, Bakers Twine, Build A Brad, Needle, Paper Piercer, Sponges

DECOR ELEMENTS ON CANVAS

I spent the afternoon applying my Decor Elements onto a canvas to hang in my craft room. I just love how it turned out.

The Decor Elements from Stampin Up are designed to go directly onto your wall, but I wanted to be able to take it with me to workshops and classes....so I decided to apply mine to a canvas.

I used the MEDIUM CREATE DEFINITION (#114440) in Chocolate Chip and the FLOURISHES (#114136) in Chocolate Chip.

The canvas dimensions are 16" x 24".

You can browse & order from the Decor Elements Catalog online HERE, or contact me for a catalog.

MISTED MARKERS ON WATERCOLOR PAPER

I made this card using the technique I call Misted Markers......I am not sure if that is the correct name or not...but that is what I call it. I colored my image with my Stampin Up Markers in Pear Pizzazz and Pretty In Pink. I then lightly mist my stamp with my mini mister and water. I then stamp the image on watercolor paper...and voila....a total watercolor look with a silhouette image stamp. Easy Peasy and fast too! I did the same thing with the circle medallion.

This card qualifies for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and yesterday's COLOR CHALLENGE over at Splitcoaststampers.

Here is a close up of the Misted Marker technique on the silhouette image from the Just Believe stamp set from Stampin Up.

Card Supplies:

Stamps: SU Just Believe
Paper: Watercolor paper, Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz, In Color DSP Paper Pack, (retired) So Saffron DSP

ORNATE BLOSSOM ~ SHADOW STAMPING

I made this card for today's FEATURED STAMPER over on Splitcoast. I chose Becky's card HERE to CASE.

I used the single stamp from Stampin Up called Ornate Blossom and did the Shadow Stamping technique. I first stamped the image in Daffodil Delight and then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped it in Concord Crush....just off setting it a little bit to create a shadow.

The background was embossed with my Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and sponged lightly.

The sentiment is from the Simple Friendship stamp set and I used the Daffodil Delight Pom Pom Trim from the Occasions Mini to border it. Isn't it just the cutest ribbon?

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Ornate Blossom, Simple Friendship
Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush
Accessories: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Concord Crush Ribbon, Daffodil Delight Pom Pom Trim, Dimensionals, Sponges, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig

SPRING IS IN THE AIR........

I am soooo ready for spring. So I took advantage of a few challenges to make a SPRING card. The thing I love most about spring is when the leaves start to come out on the trees and the birds are out singing on a sunny day.

First of all I was inspired by the idea for a Spring card from Shelli's blog 'So Shelli' from Stampin Up...she challenged us to make one.

Secondly, the colors for this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge spoke Spring to me. They were Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.

Thirdly, I used the sketch from this weeks Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

I was happy to be able to use my Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding and Daffodil Delight Pom Pom ribbon to create a Ruffled Seam Binding Flower to add to my card. I popped it up on dimensionals.

Card Supplies:

Stamps: SU Seasons Of Friendship
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, In Color DSP Paper Pack
Ink: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: 1" Circle Punch, Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding, Daffodil Delight Pom Pom Ribbon, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder(inside card)
