FEATURED STAMPER MERCY KERIN

This is my card for today's Featured Stamper: Mercy Kerin. She has a fabulous gallery over at Splitcoaststampers.com. Check it out HERE. I chose Mercy's card HERE to case.

I changed the colours, the designer papers and the stamps and accessories. I kept the basic layout minus a few layers. I stamped my Lily of the Valley twice and cut out and popped it up on dimensionals. I also used new paper I have from Basic Grey, it is the Granola Designer Paper Pack.
I tried my hand at paper piercing then made it into faux stitching. The flowers are also coloured in with a white gel pen. I used NEW stamps for May from Clear Dollar Stamps. The Lily of the Valley stamp is the May Stamp of the Month, and the sentiment is the new Words of Gratitude stamp set. The sentiment on the inside of the card says: "Words of Gratitude Create a Lovely Circle That Always Returns At the Right Moment."

HEARTFELT SYMPATHY

My boss at work asked me to make a sympathy card for a fellow co-worker who lost her father-in-law today. I made it a little bigger than normal so all the employees can sign it.
It is 5.5 x 7 in.

I wanted to make something calming and serene. Today's Ways To Use it Challenge fit perfectly with this stamp I used. We were to use one stamp and stamp it more than once on our card.
I stamped the grass from Inspired By Nature(SU) twice on this card. I also did quite a bit of sponging and used my brayer.

This beautiful sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps called Words of Sympathy. I added some highlights on the grass with my white gel pen. The butterfly has some crystal stickles added to it. The photo corners are up on dimensionals.

I hope you like it. I hope it brings some comfort to my co-worker.

Card Supplies:

Paper: Ivory, Tangerine Tango, Black
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy, Riding Hood Red, Close To Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Black

LILY OF THE VALLEY

I made this card for two challenges today. The first one is the layout from the girls at Our Creative Corner.

The second was for Mothermarks Tuesday Teapot Challenge.

If you aren't familiar with them, click on the links and play along. The layout comes from the OCC Challenge and Mothermarks teapot was to use white on white.

I used two different types of white paper, Whisper White and Shimmery White. I also used the Textile embossing Folder to create some texture.
I stamped the Lily of the Valley with black Staz-on ink and coloured in the flowers with my white gel pen. The leaves were lightly coloured with the aquapainter in Kiwi Kiss. I added two different ribbons and some dew drops across the top. The oval is up on dimensionals.

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps: May Flower of the Month
Paper: Whisper White, Shimmery White
Ink: Black Staz-on, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Nesties, Textile embossing folder, white gel pen, aquapainter, ribbon, dew drops

I like how this turned out. I have a few friends celebrating their Anniversary in May. So I am sure this will find its way to one of their mailboxes.

Thanks for looking today!

MANHATTEN ROSE

First off I must give credit where it is due. I found this awesome technique at Patty's Stamping Spot.
She has a wonderful vidoe tutorial. My sister needed a few cards, so I gave this technique a whirl. I LOVE how it turned out. It is great for making assembly line type cards when you need a few. I like it too, because it has such a great WOW factor without tons of work.

It is also great because the results are beautiful and it won't require extra postage to mail since it is still a thinner card.

I made six cards in total. I was also able to use my new Oval All stamp set and matching Oval Scalloped punch. This technique uses the brayer...so I got some practice with that again today too. I then just stamped a few leaves from an old SU Daisy flower set.
I added a butterfly from the Martha Stewart punch. It is stamped in vellum, and layered on matching card stock. I then added some dazzling diamonds glitter.
Hope you like them. Have a great day.

WHITE BLOOMS

I made this card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast.

We were to use Kraft card stock today on our card. I paired it with Always Artichoke. I had just bought this pretty Satin ribbon and wanted to use it. I also used the SU Pattern Pack of DP that was a hostess gift a while back.

I embossed the flowers and sentiment from the Bella Blossoms stamp set. I sponged around the edges with Always Artichoke.

I used my Martha Stewart Arch Lattice punch to give the edges of the dp some interest. I also used my new oval scallop punch from SU. I love it!

I hope you like my card...thanks for looking today. Have a great evening.

I also used my new Oval Scallop punch and Grey Corduroy buttons from Stampin up today. I love playing with new supplies.

I went with Riding Hood Red and Basic Grey today for my colours, and used the tafetta ribbons in both those colours too. I popped up my oval sentiment on a dimensional and added a punched Martha Stewart butterfly with a rhinestone to finish it off.

I hope you like it...

Before I sign off for today...check out Judy's blog. She has blog candy to give away. It is her blog-a-versary. You can click on the link in my sidebar to take you to her blog.

I made this card for todays colour challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The colours were Garden Green, Ballet Blue and Cameo Coral

I learned something today too....when your card is done..leave it alone! I decided to add some colour to the texured areas with my ink pads. I wished I would have left it white. Live and Learn!

These cute stamps can be found at http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/ and are new for May. This set is called Kuddly Koala. I love it since Koala Bears are one of my favourite animals. Inspiration Challenge Saturday May 2, 2009

I created this card for the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com.

I was inspired by this dress HERE.

I also was able to use NEW stamps for May from Clear Dollar Stamps. This set is called Words Of Gratitude. I think it is so elegant.

I used Tempting Turquoise textured paper and ran it thru the cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls embossing folder. I then used Galaxy Gold ink to highlight the raised edges.
I used Fine Gold EP to emboss the sentiment and the prima, which was originally white. I used my Martha Stewart Arched Lattice punch to create the decorative edges. After adding some ribbon and gold cording my card was done.

I was quite pleased with how it turned out since I don't usually used bright colours. I hope you like it too. Thanks for looking.
